A little someone knows how to use Photo booth on our computer! My favorite is when she clicks the button to take the picture, and then hides under the table. When it's done taking the picture she climbs back up on the chair and looks at the picture and says "Hey Mom, where did Aurora go?" I love My Aurora!

I love it when Aurora is on a mission, You can see it on her face that she has a great idea! And the other day, this was her idea. She ran to the drawer that has the brown bags in it, pulled 1 out, and then ran as fast as she could back to her room, Stuck her "cuppy" in the brown bag and started drinking it. After I took this picture she held it up and said, "Cool mommy! huh?"

Christmas!

Christmas Eve and Christmas day we stayed home! We went to Grandma and Papas on the 26th and Visited Jonathan's mom, and Grandma on the 27th. It was nice staying home for the 2nd year in arrow. Although we missed our Grandma and Papa on Christmas day, it was nice not sitting in 4 hours of Traffic to get home. Which this year probably would have taken longer, because the 330 is now closed. Lucky us! They say it should be back open the beginning of summer.... I say it's going to take at least a year to fix. Projects that have to do with fixing roads, always take longer than expected. And in this situation, they can't just rebuild the road... nope, some of the road is to be never seen again! there is a big gap, and hole on the side of the mountain. So now its back to planning our trips down the mountain. :)

No Hot Water

This is how mornings in the Trask home start. A cup of coffee for mom, and then starts the boiling of water. The first couple sets is for Aurora's bath, and then after that, is the water for doing dishes! :) This has been our life for a little over a week now. Under our house flooded during that HUGE rain storm, and it got into our water heater. We still have a couple more things to try before we have to call someone and pay for someone to fix it. Maybe tomorrow we will have hot water!! PRAY!
As for showering for us, we go over to Jonathan's Aunts house, thank God we have some family that live close!

Yes my child calls me Sarah, she's been calling me Sarah for a couple months now. It's either Sarah, or Mommy Sarah. It was funny at first, but now it kind of makes me crazy. So we are now in the process of correction her when she calls me Sarah. For about every 5 Sarah's that are said, there is 1 Mommy. :)

Watching Aurora try to dress herself is always good entertainment for mommy. I offer my help just to make sure, but she always say no. Half the time she'll randomly walk out of her room with something awkwardly wrapped around or over her, with a huge proud smile on her face! She loves it when i tell her "Good job honey! oh you look so pretty!"

Summer is finally here! It was a little late, but I think I can forgive it! Aurora and I have been having a ton of fun being outside, and doing small special things together. Like after we go to the post office, we go to the gas station to get an ice cream bar, come home and sit on the deck and eat it together. Although the first day we did this, Snuggles wanted to join in on our fun, and when I turned my back to get the camera, she snatched Auroras ice cream bar. Aurora's little face was so sad, and the tears started coming, So I quickly gave her mine. As soon as she got the ice cream in her hand she immediately started yelling "NO! NO!" to the dog... That's our Aurora! :)

This was torture for snuggles. Now when Aurora eats something out of her highchair I make snuggles sit and watch her. I'm training her not to eat Aurora's food, and so is Aurora!

Camping

We went camping with some friends in Joshua Tree! We had lots of fun hanging out and catching up. Aurora kept us very busy chasing her around, but she had a lot of fun.

From one extreme, to another! As we left Joshua Tree it started to rain, who would have thought that there was snow at home... Not us!!

Jonathan directing traffic, there was an Accident on the 330 on our way home, no one was hurt, but the sheriff wasn't there, and the lane going up the mountain was blocked. But thanks to Jonathan, he was able to get traffic going again!!

Spiders

I hate spiders with a passion, and I'm sure I'm not the only person either. Small spiders I will kill; Big spiders I will yell for Jonathan and he will catch them, look up what kind it is on the Internet to make sure it's not poisonous, and either toss it outside, or flush down the toilet. Now if Jonathan is not home and there a big spider on the wall, I will avoid it all day until he gets home, and let him take care of it.
Today I finished putting the rest of the crib under the house, what would have taken me 3 minutes to do, took me about 10 minutes to do, because the original person (who will remain nameless) put most of the crib down there, just kind of tossed it under the house right in front of the door that opens to under the house. I took time to organize a little more under there so it will be easier to get things, or put things away. I walked in the house and heard that Aurora was up form her nap, so I started pull things out to make her lunch, as I looked down to take the bread out of the bag, i see this on my shirt!!!!

After freaking out and saying a couple of cuss words... I flick the spider off of me and tear my sweatshirt off, and immediately start shaking my head checking my hair for more spiders. The spider that was on me is now in a zip-lock bag wait for Jonathan
There are moments in my life when I look like a complete idiot I'm very grateful that no one was there to see it... But today it would have been a really good laugh.

Spring is here, and it's time to start Gardening! Despite the snow that's still in our yard, me and Aurora made the best of it today! I love the stage that Aurora is in right now! Last year she would have eaten the dirt. And this year she is all about learning, and getting dirty! :) I can't wait for the rest of the snow to melt, so we can have more fun days like we did today!

The Fun has begun! Aurora is now walking! She just started about 2 weeks ago at Grandma and PaPa's house, and is doing very well at it. It's very funny to see our tiny girl walking, and she is very tiny! Although if you try to show off her walking skills, she refuses to do it. And if she notices the person who wants her to walk is watching her, she will quickly sit on her bottom and start crawling. She's a stubborn little girl.

Is She Walking?
The famous question, and the answer is... No, Aurora is not walking by herself yet. Our lovely little girl has taught us, she will walk when she is ready to. She is perfectly happy, with crawling to the couch or wall, standing up and walking along them. There have been a few times she has gotten the courage to let go for a few seconds; but then falls to her butt, and happily and quickly crawls away to her next destination.
A Great Christmas present from Aurora this year for Mommy and Daddy would be for her to take her first step on Christmas! :)

SNOW!
We received our first snow fall of the season!! It's beautiful! Although the sun has come out, and the snow is quickly melting, giving us a little more time to finish getting ready for winter.

CHRISTMAS!
The Trask house is ready for Christmas! It's a new adventure this Christmas, with the tree up, and curious little hands! All the decorations on the tree are out of reach!.... Well at least We think they are. She's always surprising us! :)

NO MORE EVA
We finally found a wonderful family to take our dog Eva!! It took us a few months, but we wanted to make sure we found her the right home! And we did! So now, it is just snuggles! As much as I miss Eva, I'm very happy to be back down to one dog.

We are doing great, Jonathan has a new job at Alpine (a camp up here) as the Program Manager. And he LOVES his job! It's nice and relaxing for me to know that when my husband goes to work, he likes what he's doing! Jonathan is also a PCF (Paid Call Firefighter) at Running Springs, and of course, he loves that job too! :) As for me, I'm a proud Mommy to Aurora, and a VERY PROUD wife to my AMAZING husband!

Yesterday Me and Aurora made a trip to the social security office, to get me a new card. It was a very eventful time there. There was a security guard who was... Very "passionate" about his job! I got stuck sitting in between a very LARGE woman, and an "interesting" man. (it was the only seat available.. and I "had" to sit there) I sat there for about an hour and a half, with a 1 year old. I had plenty of toys for her to play with to keep her busy, but let me tell you she was a wiggle worm! She was such a wiggle worm, her diaper wasn't on properly any more. But I didn't know that! 2 numbers to be called until us. Oh I was so excited to get this done and over with, and get out of there! I made sure my bag, and paper work were ready to go. As I sat there with Aurora on my lap playing, I felt her getting really "WARM". My first thought was, "Oh i hope she's not getting sick!" and As I felt her leg, that warm feeling turned cold. I lifted her up, and had a HUGE wet spot on my pants. Yes, Aurora peed on me! There was nothing I could do, we were the next number. There wasn't enough time to change her. The lady who was helping me get a new card, was very nice, and did everything in less than 5 min. She must have been a Mom! :)

Just a few days ago, the High chair was by the front door, and the kitchen chair was in the bathroom... That's how she gets around the house, by pushing everything to her destination!

Our summer fun started out with Uncle Tim coming out to visit us in June! He was only out for a few days, but we enjoyed his company! I think Aurora's favorite moment with Uncle Tim was, when he let her eat Avocado with her hands while sitting with her Uncle... some how Tim didn't get any Avocado on him and he was wearing a white shirt.... but Mommy had plenty of Avocado on her!!! Funny how that works out!
Jonathan and Tim had a "man date" together, and went golfing. From what I hear, Jonathan is getting better.
And of course our traditional Disneyland trip with Tim was fun! No, Aurora didn't go with us. She had fun at Grandma and PaPa's house!

Jonathan Got a dancing lesson from Tim!!!!

Aurora's first 4th of July in Huntington Beach!! We had lots of fun! although I don't have any pictures of her in her little American flag Bikini... or her sitting on PaPa's shoulders watching the parade... What's wrong with me? normally I have pictures of everything! At least we have a family picture in the middle of PCH!!!

Our first trip to Disneyland as a family, was a lot of fun! We went with Jeff, Jenny, and Julia! We went on the carousel, but that was it, it was to busy of a day to go on anything else. But that's okay, we have passes! We did watch the Electrical Parade!

We've been wanting to get an Elmo live, for a while now, but we wanted to wait, and let it be her birthday present... Well, daddy is a softy!! and she got it a little earlier than planned!!

Aurora loves to pick on our dog Eva! I think it's funny how she picks the BIG dog to bother, rather than the smaller one... but oh well! Eva is starting to get use to Aurora climbing all over her!

Trying to get laundry put away is always a fun task lately!

Aurora has very curious hands!! She love getting into EVERYTHING!!! And if we're missing a toy, all we have to do is check under the couches, refrigerator, and stove! She almost shoved my phone under the stove today, but i caught her just in time! Silly little girl!

Only a few more weeks, and our little Princess will be 1! We can't believe it! Time has gone by so fast! We love our little girl so much, and are very excited to see what new things she will be learning... and we'll be learning, this year!

Me and Aurora met the Mercado Family at Disneyland today. We were only there for a few hours with them. But here are some pictures of our day. Daddy couldn't join us, he had to work today, But we sure do love and appreciate our daddy, for working so hard for us!!! We love you daddy!

Camping was so much fun! Our First camping trip as a family! Aurora did great! She slept through the night... in a TENT!!! Mom got a little sunburnt.... okay.... it's pretty bad, But we had fun! Our little Chunk Chunk is getting big!! Still no crawling, but I'm okay with that! She'll do it in her own time. She loves the color Red and Elmo of course! She's getting such a little personality! She's starting to say MaMa and DaDa! It's really funny when she says it and we respond to her, she gets all excited. I'm starting to give her little pieces of my food lately, and if i don't share, and just eat in front of her, i get the "Angry eyes!" We have no problem with her and food! Our little girl LOVES food!
Today i gave Aurora a box to play in, and like all kids she loved it!

Our trip to Colorado was very fun! We left Saturday night at 9:30pm. We figured we'd do most of our driving at night so Aurora could sleep through half of it. She was a very Good little girl, for being 7 months old and stuck in her car seat.

Back on the Road again. Right after this picture jonathan decided it would be a "good" idea to whistle all the Zelda tunes... lucky me!

Going through Utah, was beautiful, but we had to make it a quick stop, because we were trying to out run the storm. Plus it was to cold to stay outside. The storm did catch up to us when we got to the rockies, but we made it through. the last 3 hours of our trip there, Jonathan was really frustrated, and i thought everything in the world was funny. So together we made a great team.

We arrived to the Mercado's house around 1:30am Monday.
Our first day there the girls went roller skating, no, we didn't skate, but we watched.

My Night last night... Jonathan left to go to his fire meeting, and it was just mommy and Aurora.... plus the dogs. :+) As soon as daddy left, I fed her, then we played, then Bath time, some more play time with mommy, then i turned on a movie, and laid her in her play pin in the living room (i was trying to get her really TIRED) 10 min went by and she started this
She went on like this for about 20-30 min. and was making our dog eva CRAZY!!!!
So I made her a bottle, gave her a kiss and laid her down. She went down with no fussing. I thought I did a pretty good job, I really wore her out... right? WRONG! I heard little movements here and there, but for the most part, i thought she was sleeping. I was getting pretty excited! Some quite time! So i started getting ready for bed.... Then I heard THE RATTLE, at first i thought maybe she kicked it... then I kept hearing it... and then came the squeal!!!! And this is what i found.

Trust me her crib didn't look like that when i laid her down. it was all nice and neat and clean...

6 months... already?

Our little princess in now 6 months... that was the fastest 6 months of my life! It's crazy to see how much she has changed in just a short time. She now eats baby foods, and apple juice. and has been trying to get up on her knees to crawl. She's a very determined little girl, and also very cranky because she can't do half the stuff she wants to do.
ONE DAY MY LITTLE PRINCESS, YOU WILL BE THERE.
She loves to be on the go... at all times! She just discovered that she can touch the dogs... The youngest dog eva was laying on the floor in the living room, so I sat with Aurora on the floor so she could touch her! Her little eyes grew BIG and determined to get this dog. She took a big chunk of dog fur in each hand and started pulling, kicking and giggling. Eva just laid there and let her do it. Jonathan and I have been working with the dogs from day one, pulling on tails, ears, fur, and paws, so we wouldn't have to worry about the snipping at Aurora. and now Aurora know she's in charge of these dogs!
I can't believe only 6 more months and our princess will be a year old. Time sure does fly! Although I'm sad my baby is getting bigger, I'm NOT sad enough to have a 2nd one any time soon. :+) We're just enjoying our Aurora!

Who needs to work out when there is TONS of snow to shovel?? Last year, i could put much effort into shoveling because i was pregnant. This year, I'm a Lean, Mean, Shoveling Machine!!!

It’s a possibility. We got another dog. She's 8 weeks, and is half German shepherd/malamute. We named her Eva (from wall-E) She’s going to be bigger than snuggles, her paws are HUGE!! We’ve been talking about getting another dog, and Saturday, we did. I almost picked her up without asking my husband, but I was a good wife, and controlled myself. So I went back to the academy where Jonathan was painting, and asked him. When I had her in the car, I kept thinking… are we crazy?? 2 dogs and a baby?? YES! :+) But the good thing is, this forces Jonathan to but the gate up on the fence, and do the stairs on the deck…. Perfect timing cause he graduates the academy tomorrow! So he’ll have plenty of time. I don’t have pictures of her yet, but I will put some up soon. We don’t baby her like we did snuggles. But her and snuggles get along great now, the first meeting was a little hard, but now, they keep each other busy.

AURORA is getting bigger/chubbier! She loves to talk to us! She has such a sweet little voice! She love to eat her hands, and when she gets really mad and starts yelling, she tenses up her whole body and tries to sit up, I think it’s her way of working out her abs! :+) She loves her bouncer,(Thank you Christine and Andrew for letting us use it!) the past few days she’ll just sit there for 20 min, playing and talking, it’s a very nice break for mommy, plus it gives me time to do stuff around the house. She hasn’t been sleeping as much as she use to. But she sure does LOVE to eat! We pulled out her bumbo chair,(her big girl chair) She looks so cute in it. I can’t believe she’ll be 3 months this Sunday! I remember when Jonathan started the academy; She was only 2 weeks. And now the academy is coming to an end and she’s 3 months! Time sure does fly when you’re looking back.
Her new favorite thing is to watch/listen to her daddy play the ukulele. Some time that’s how she’ll fall asleep, I find it to be very sweet and cute!

JONATHAN is doing great in the Academy, we have 10 more days left until graduation! We both agree that the first 3 weeks were the hardest, and after that the weeks just started flying by. We are so excited for the Academy to be over, and we’re ready to take our next step! What is our next step? We will see!!!!! :+) God always seems to work everything out in our lives. I’m sure the beginning of next year we will have a change in our lives, It always seems to work out like that. But we enjoy it!

SNUGGLES has gotten a lot bigger, and also more protective over Aurora and me. Mainly Aurora. If at any time Aurora starts crying, she first starts off with licking her toes, because one time it worked, and she stopped crying and started giggling. And if that doesn’t work, she’ll come get me, and won’t stop whining until I pick her up. Or if Aurora is taking a nap and I’m on the deck sweeping, or raking leaves, and she wakes up, snuggles will lay by the front door whining until once again, I pick her up. At first I was worried about how snuggles would react to Aurora, but I’m not any more, I’m sure when Aurora is bigger, they’ll be trouble together.

We received very little snow, but enough to get us excited!

Aurora was a Polar Bear for halloween.. how did we come up with that? Jonathan came across the fabric at joanns, and said "look babe, she could be a polar bear!" So we bought the fabric, and i started sewing! My first time making a costume. It was a lot of fun.. and also A LOT of work!

First let me say that the squirrels up here love to stand in front of my dog as she’s locked up on the deck and taunt her. Of course Snuggles goes CRAZY and won’t stop barking until they leave.
AND NOW MY STORY
So I’m standing in my living room enjoying my coffee at 2pm… we had a long night. Anyway. I’m enjoying my cup of coffee and the peace and quiet the mountain has to offer.
When all of a sudden our dog starts freaking out, running back and forth on the deck barking. So I open the door, thinking that me coming out will scare the stupid thing away. NOPE. All it does is run half way up the tree and sits there. Well I decided to take care of things myself… I grabbed the BB gun. Our BB gun has a scope on it. So it’s hard to miss on the first shot. I pumped it 3 times, opened the door, made sure no one was watching and took my shot. Don’t worry; I didn’t kill it. I just showed it who’s boss… right? I quickly put the BB gun back in the house, grabbed my coffee, walked back out side, and went back to enjoying my peace and quiet… Well the squirrel started making its stupid noise… I guess it would be a squirrel call. Well it finally ran away. 10 min. later it came back. But this time it brought a friend. Now there’s 2 of them. I would have shot it again. But that would have required me to really be out in the open. What can I say, I like to go sniper style! :+)
Now I’m sitting here thinking. I need a flannel shirt and a wooden rocking chair to put on the deck. So I can sit there sipping my coffee, while rocking back and forth with my BB gun lying in my lap. What do you think? Can you picture it?

Our weekend felt like a vacation! We went down to Huntington Beach this weekend for Luke's first birthday. I can't believe he's one!!! It crazy to think how fast it went by with him... and it will probably feel even faster with Aurora. I'm so glad Luke and Aurora are close in age. It will be fun to see them grow up together!
My parents were very excited to have us down for the weekend! They were so happy to spend some time with Aurora! They spoiled her, i feel like we came back with a new wardrobe!

The Academy

Everything is going good, we miss him alot during the day, but we only have 9 more weeks to go! I'm so proud of him! He's working so hard! Our nights during the week, are on a schedule now, so it seems to be getting a little easier.

Jonathan started the Fire Academy last week at Crafton Hills College. We’re both very excited he’s going through it. And we’re also excited for it to be over with; but that’s not for another 10 weeks. He’s doing good; lots of physical training early in the morning, so he comes home pretty tired. We don’t get to see each other much during the week. We only get to hang out for a couple of hours when he gets home, and that’s just being in the same room as each other, cause he has homework to do. We’re both are very excited when the weekends come! I find our weekends to be refreshing now.
I think my husband is amazing! And I’m so proud of him!

Well, Aurora's first bath time was in the kitchen sink. Daddy was the one who washed her, Mommy dried her off, and Aurora decided it would be a good idea to pee on her moms foot. How nice of her. I would like to say that, that was the only time it happened. But it wasn't. Bath #2 I decided to give her myself, and as soon as i pulled her out of the bath, on to the towel, she did it again, all over my shirt and pants this time. Awe my little girl loves me so much!

It started out just the 2 of us a little over a year ago.

We got married in May of 2007, and found out we were expecting our first child about 2 weeks before Christmas. (yes!!! we finally one uped Andrew and Christine! :+) )
And here we are now!

No longer just the 2 of us. Now it's the 3!! and we love it! Our little girl was born August 17 @ 10:47pm she weighed 6lbs 5oz. and was 18 inches long. A prefect little girl!
